Blockenbräu
Blockenbräu is a tile-placing drafting game where you must balance your kegs, workers, and hops to maintain a positive cash flow while expanding your brewery.
My submission to Godot Wild Jam #92. Life hit hard during the jam development cycle, so this is more of a prototype or proof of concept.
Known Issues
- Unfortunately I ran out of time before including some music.
- The game over state is abrupt, if you ever go negative in a month you’ll just be unceremoniously booted to the main menu.
- There’s no proper detection of another end state. I suggest just playing until you can’t place a piece legally!
- I say legally because there’s a bug that allows you to place pieces out of bounds under certain conditions. Oops.
Blockenbräu
Every week, a new set of builder contracts become available. You must choose one to build on your plot of land. For each additional piece, your rent goes up and is due at the end of the month after 4 weeks.
Each keg you produce earns you $100 in revenue! To make a keg of beer, you need 5 units of Hops and 2 Workers. You start out with a $500 loan to keep you afloat, but if this ever becomes negative, you declare bankruptcy and the game ends.
Controls
When placing a piece, rotate the piece with Q or E, place with left click, or click Escape to cancel the piece and choose another one.
